New Hope Cinema Grill is the only theater in the northwest metro where you can get a full meal with your movie. But if you don't want to do dinner during the show, there's a new place to go after the credits roll.
"We wanted to go for a sports bar atmosphere, but the twist of the movie theme with the Cinema Grill next door," said Jason Dennis, manager at New Hope Cinema Grill.
Nestled next door to the Cinema Grill, the brand new Outtakes Bar and Grill is outfitted with industrial-style décor. For example, the bar is a stainless steel countertop resting on what looks like a stack of black concert roadie cases. Dennis said the goal was to make the restaurant feel like the back lot of a Hollywood set where the crew would go after shooting a movie and hang out.
Outtakes Bar and Grill will open its doors for the first time Friday night, serving up American fare, drinks and a different atmosphere.
While New Hope Cinema Grill offers movies, comedy shows and food while you watch, the guys in charge thought there was still something missing that would truly make it a one-stop shop.
"We heard almost every comedy night people asking what bars are in the area to go have a cocktail," said owner Sean Fuhrmann. "So we wanted to be able to provide that to them and say, you know what? Stay here!"
Outtakes is essentially an extension of the Cinema Grill. The two venues will share the same kitchen and staff. But the restaurant is a place for people to go even if they don't want to see a show next door.
"After hours, you know, bring the adults and they can come here and relax and be your local neighborhood kind of hangout," said Dennis. "But during the day we definitely want to incorporate the family friendly feeling like Cinema Grill and be part of the community."
They're inviting the community to celebrate the restaurant's grand opening this weekend. Outtakes will open its doors at 5 p.m. Friday, with the band Sweet Siren playing at 9 p.m. The cover band Boogie Wonderland will perform Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
